Detention has been chosen as a preventive measure against Davit Movsisyan, the accused in the criminal case being investigated in connection with the death of conscript Private Vahram Avagyan, son of Mkrtich Avagyan.

This was stated on 4 February on her Facebook page by Naira Harutyunyan, head of the information and public relations department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

It should be noted that Davit Movsisyan has been charged under Part 3 of Article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, namely, violating the statutory rules of relations between servicemen in the absence of subordination relations between them, which through negligence caused grave consequences.

During a conversation with NEWS.am, his defense attorney Ashot Apresyan had stated that Movsisyan does not recognize the charge brought against him.

Let us recall that Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan had stated that in connection with the case of serviceman Vahram Avagyan, who died in Artsakh on 30 January, three people have been arrested, one of whom is the son of former deputy Arakel Movsisyan (Shmays).
