Armenia has become one of the fastest-growing tourist destinations in the world, according to data from the United Nations World Tourism Organization. As reported by Armenpress, citing UNWTO’s “Tourism Barometer” data, Armenia ranks 12th among the fastest-developing destinations, with a growth rate of 14.4 percent.
According to the World Tourism Organization’s report, the largest growth was recorded by Myanmar, at 40.2 percent. Among neighboring countries, only Iran surpassed Armenia in tourism growth, ranking third in the world with a 27.9 percent increase. Among EAEU member states, Armenia is the undisputed leader, followed only by Kazakhstan (20th place, with a 10 percent growth rate).
Turkey and Azerbaijan have fallen behind Armenia on the tourism growth list, occupying 13th and 17th places respectively, with growth rates of 14 and 11.4 percent.
