The State Revenue Committee has announced that attempts to circumvent the temporary ban on the import of goods of Turkish origin, established by Decision No. 1048-N of the Government of the Republic of Armenia dated 24.06.2021, have become more frequent recently, by concealing their origin through the removal of labels or other illegal actions.
The Committee urges all citizens and economic operators not to waste time and resources on concealing the Turkish origin of goods, since in the event that the country of origin of goods is unknown at the customs border, the SRC will carry out operations to determine their true origin. And until the completion of the operation, the goods and means of transport will not be released, which will lead to additional financial costs. Even in cases of suspicion of Turkish origin of goods, their entry into the territory of the Republic of Armenia will be prohibited and they will be immediately removed from the country.
The SRC once again assures that it demonstrates a strict policy regarding the import of Turkish goods and continues consistent control, excluding their entry into the republic within the scope of its powers.
