Since yesterday, the flag of Armenia has been flying on the Strasbourg city hall building, as a sign of solidarity with Armenia and the Armenian people.
On 24 November, the flag-raising ceremony was attended by Armenia’s Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe, Ambassador Arman Khachatryan, Strasbourg Mayor Jean Barseghyan, city council member and author of the resolution on supporting Armenia, Pierre Yakubovich, and other guests.
This symbolic step was provided for by a resolution adopted unanimously by the Strasbourg municipal council on 7 November, which clearly condemns Azerbaijan’s military attack on Armenia, calls for the establishment of peace, and provides for support for friendly Armenia.
