During a telephone conversation on 3 January between RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ibrahim Raisi, reference was made to the processes taking place in the region. According to a statement published on the official website of the President of Iran, Ibrahim Raisi called for the continuation of dialogue between the two countries at the most diverse levels.
“The sensitivity of the situation in the Caucasian region requires that the countries of the region periodically discuss regional and bilateral issues. One of the key directions of the policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is to support the territorial integrity and sovereignty of countries. In this regard, Tehran supports Armenia’s sovereignty over all roads passing through that country,” said the President of Iran.
It was also noted that Tehran welcomes the progress of the negotiation process between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. The President of Iran expressed the hope that the problems between the two countries will be resolved by peaceful means on the basis of international principles. “We support the unblocking of roads,” noted the President of Iran.
