The live broadcast of the National Assembly session was interrupted by order of Speaker Alen Simonyan, when he summoned the NA security staff into the session hall. The reason was his dispute with the representatives of the “Armenia” alliance.
After deputy Anna Mkrtchyan of the “I Have Honor” alliance was invited to leave the hall, the opposition representatives began to express dissatisfaction with that decision. Today, Speaker Alen Simonyan had invited her to leave the NA session hall for using the expression “capitulant Nikol.”
Deputy Speaker, representative of the “Armenia” alliance Ishkhan Saghatelyan delivered a speech, in which he noted that Alen Simonyan had abused his powers by expelling Anna Mkrtchyan.
After that, Simonyan gave a warning to “Armenia” alliance deputies Armen Rustamyan and Agnes Khamoyan for speaking from their seats.
“You cannot,” responded Rustamyan, and Simonyan said he could, after which alliance deputy Anna Grigoryan stood up and left the hall, and a few other opposition members tried to follow her, while some CP representatives simultaneously began to react heatedly to everything.
After all this, seeing that the situation was explosive and that Narek “would not calm down,” Simonyan summoned the NA security staff inside and ordered the broadcast to be cut off.
