At the intersection of the Karmir Shuka-Shekher communities in the Martuni region, Azerbaijan handed over to the Armenian side another 106 bodies of servicemen killed during the military operations. This was reported by the Artsakh Rescue Service.
Artsakh rescuers, led by Colonel Mekhak Arzumanyan, Director of the State Rescue Service, returned the bodies to Stepanakert. All are unrecognizable. It is presumed that the men had been buried previously, and the bodies were handed over after exhumation from the Varanda (Fizuli), Hadrut and Jrakan (Jebrail) regions.
Artsakh Minister of Internal Affairs Karen Sargsyan was present at the forensic examination bureau in Stepanakert. The minister assured that every possible step is being taken in the direction of searches for killed or missing servicemen, noting that negotiations will continue in the coming days. He also expressed condolences to the parents of the fallen servicemen, wishing them strength and patience to endure the nationwide grief.
It should be noted that after the ceasefire, the total number of bodies discovered through searches or handed over by Azerbaijan is 1485.
