The heads of the parliamentary factions of Artsakh met today with the leadership of the Russian Federation’s peacekeeping contingent in Artsakh.
The Department of Information and Public Relations of the Artsakh National Assembly stated that the peacekeeping contingent’s officials provided clarifications, referring to the trilateral statement of 9 November 2020. It was noted that the new route will have the same legal status of the corridor, and all security components will be maintained, from the 5-kilometre security zone to the deployment of checkpoints of the Russian Federation’s peacekeeping forces.
“Referring to the ceasefire violations by Azerbaijan in early August, the leadership of the RF peacekeeping contingent noted that they have made the necessary representations, while assuring that they will exert additional efforts to prevent similar violations in the future and ensure the proper security of the population,” the statement said.
