The Armenian people, who have lived through countless tragedies, today experience a new nationwide pain:
With deep shock we witnessed the most large-scale emergency incident in the entire history of independent Armenia — the disastrous explosion that took place on 14 August 2022 at the “Surmalu” trade centre in Yerevan, claiming the lives of 16 citizens, leaving dozens wounded and 2 missing.
During these days of mourning declared in Armenia in memory of the victims of the tragedy that took place, as the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party, we join our mourning homeland people:
We express our condolences and sympathy to the families and relatives of the compatriots who fell victim to this unfortunate incident, sharing the pain of their loss, which is the pain of us all. We wish all the wounded a full and speedy recovery.
We also express our boundless gratitude and respect to the rescuers and volunteers who took part in the search-and-rescue operations, highly appreciating their dedication:
We are confident that this latest nationwide tragedy will unite our compatriots and, as always, the Armenian people, with the power of their strong will, soothing the pain, shall overcome this trial as well with a united spirit:
