The 3rd General Membership Meeting of the ADL Lebanon Region took place on Friday, 12 August 2022, in the hall of the Marash Compatriotic Union.
Dr. Avedis Dakesian, member of the ADL Central Board and chairman of the Lebanon Regional Board, presented the details of the celebration held in Armenia on the occasion of the Party’s centennial, including the exhibition of the Party’s historical archives, which generated great interest in the homeland. The archives revealed how members of a party devoted to the nation were able to accomplish such great work in a limited time. The one-day planning conference was important for determining the steps to be taken for the Party’s future, so that we can keep pace with the demands and opportunities of a changing world, for the glory of the bright future of our nation’s children.
The presence of the Armenian state leadership at the Party’s centennial celebration, which took place within the precincts of the National Assembly, and their appreciation, were the greatest and most obliging signs presented to us. Armenian television also reported the news of the celebration in its first news bulletin.
The Armenian government presented the Party with a 20-hectare area in the park adjacent to the Tsitsernakaberd monument, to establish a garden there.
The comrades participating in the celebration paid their respects to the martyred heroes of our nation, visiting Yerablur and laying a wreath on their graves.
The Board’s secretary, Vigen Tosunyan, read the circular addressed by the Central Board to all ADL regions, which presents the Party’s centennial celebration and the call for future work, to be spurred into action, to successfully crown the sacred work of serving our nation. Then, Dr. Dakesian presented the latest data on Armenia and Artsakh. A discussion took place with the participation of members. Data on Lebanon’s internal situation and the possibility of the presidential election were also presented.
Considering that the Vahan Tekeyan School will also be free of charge for the 2022-2023 academic year, a call was made to direct our children to our school, where extracurricular activities—chess, basketball, and other sports—will also develop in the coming academic year. At the end of the meeting, Levon Barseghyan read the names of all our deserving comrades who, for their long years of nation-serving and party-serving work, received their certificates of honor sent by the ADL Central Board.
A thousand respects to the benefactors of our nation, who have made serving the nation a part of their lives, serving everyone without distinction.
Thanks to the ADL Central Board, under the chairmanship of Mike Kharabian, for their diligent work and appreciation. Work whose fruits we reaped with the celebration in Armenia, with state honor, and will reap in the future by increasing the ranks of our nation-serving Party and carrying out effective work for the glory of the children of our noble people.
