The chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Robert Menendez, has described as alarming the reports of the capture and death of Armenian soldiers following Azerbaijan’s attack on Armenia’s eastern border on November 16.
Menendez’s statement was circulated on the committee’s Twitter page.
“The reports of the capture of Armenian soldiers by Azerbaijan and the deaths of Armenians are deeply concerning. The military assistance provided to Azerbaijan helps carry out these vile acts against ethnic Armenians. It is time to make a change in the National Defense Authorization Act to curtail that assistance,” Menendez stated.
