The Ministry of Health has announced that to date, 3,831 forensic examinations of bodies and remains have been conducted.
In response to an inquiry from Azatutyun, the department stated that of the 3,831 forensic examinations, 2,863 samples of bodies and remains have been identified. 157 samples are currently in the testing phase.
Azatutyun had also sent a written inquiry to the Investigative Committee to find out how many people are still missing as a result of the 44-day war. The Committee responded that this information cannot be provided, reasoning that “the information contains data from the preliminary investigation that is not subject to publication.”
On June 17, the Investigative Committee published the number of missing servicemen. Subsequently, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also released information about the number of missing servicemen.
