The Anti-Corruption (anti-bribery – Ed.) court today, 29 December, rejected the defence’s motion to release former Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Davit Tonyan. This was reported by Tonyan’s defence counsel Sergey Hovhannisyan.
He stated that they had again submitted a motion to release the former minister on a 35 million dram bail.
Sergey Hovhannisyan said that Tonyan’s apartment had been put up as collateral.
The defence counsel noted that they are preparing to file an appeal against the court’s decision.
It should be recalled that Davit Tonyan is being tried in the case of abuses in ammunition supply.
It should be noted that by court decision, Davit Tonyan has been in custody since 30 September of last year.
