Turkey’s provocative actions and aggressive behavior toward Cyprus and Greece create a dangerous atmosphere. This was stated by Cyprus Defense Minister Charalambos Petrides, CNA reports.
Petrides said that Cyprus is undoubtedly “living through decisive moments,” adding that this phase is “particularly determined by Turkey.” The Turkish side’s aggressive statements and behavior toward Cyprus and Greece negatively affect the region. The defense minister referred to the government’s efforts aimed at ending the Turkish occupation of Cyprus and reunifying the island state. He emphasized that the government is making maximum efforts to pass on to the country’s new generation a land free from occupying forces and dividing lines.
