The Turkish authorities have decided to fully restore the Manuchihr Mosque located in the ruins of Ani. Under the supervision of the General Directorate of Development Agencies affiliated with Turkey’s Ministry of Industry and Technology, work has begun with the aim of passing the mosque on to future generations and introducing it to the world. This was reported by the “Ermenihaber” website.
A protocol was signed between the General Directorate of Development Agencies and the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums for the implementation of the mosque’s reconstruction and design work.
According to the protocol, the project is to be financed by 26 development agencies operating in various regions of Turkey, and the restoration work is planned to be completed on 26 August 2021, on the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Manzikert.
