A team from the UN Armenia Office, led by UN Resident Coordinator ad interim Lila Pieters Yahia, has visited the Gegharkunik region, to communities affected by Azerbaijani shelling. The information was published on the UN Armenia Office’s Facebook page.
“Together with my UN colleagues, we visited Gavar, Shadvan, Norabak, Kut, and Sotk. I witnessed the great sorrow and suffering of people — men, women, young people and children; many have previously experienced the loss of communities, livelihoods and homes. I am deeply impressed by the resilience of the residents and their calls to defend their rights to live peacefully and safely in their own country,” said Lila Pieters Yahia.
