UNICEF Representative in Armenia Marine Clark-Hatting has departed from Armenia. This was reported to Armenpress by Zara Sargsyan, Head of Communication Programs at the UNICEF Armenia Office.
“The office continues its normal work; we are awaiting the temporary officer-in-charge,” said Zara Sargsyan.
Earlier, Anna Naghdalyan, spokesperson for the Armenian Foreign Ministry, had noted that for the Armenian side, the shortcomings in the implementation of her mandate and the uncooperative working style of UNICEF Representative in Armenia Marine Clark-Hatting were problematic, and therefore a decision was made by the Armenian government to terminate Clark-Hatting’s tenure as UNICEF Representative in Armenia. The UN Resident Coordinator and UNICEF representatives were informed of the decision.
Information had been circulated in the media that the head of the UNICEF Armenia office had spied in favor of Azerbaijan and Great Britain. The Prosecutor’s Office had also noted that it has no data regarding UNICEF Representative in Armenia Marine Clark-Hatting carrying out espionage in favor of Azerbaijan and Great Britain, but it is examining publications concerning her.
