Reverend Fathers,
Representatives of National Political Organizations,
This year, the commemoration of the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide coincides with such terrible developments, acute crises and moments of turmoil that, more or less, first remind us of the Armenian Genocide that took place more than a century ago, the territorial seizures, the mass displacements and the phenomena of exile.
But this time, the treacherous enemy, the bloodthirsty, man-eating and barbaric Azerbaijan, kin to Turkey, was the one that, before the indifferent and silent gaze of the world, armed with Turkish-Israeli political-military backing, filled with mercenaries and completed with terrorists, dared to “revive” its aggressive and predatory appetite, with the vain logic that Artsakh is not Armenian soil and belongs to Turkish-mannered hordes.
. What historical irony..!
. What legal farce…!
. What territorial immaturity..!
. What political and state incompetence..!
Today, when the whole world bows before the memory of the Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide, the genocided Armenian remains the claimant of his inalienable rights, his timeless cause, clinging all the more to his vows, while on the other hand, however, he finds himself face to face with the newest atrocities and conquests of the Azerbaijani-Turkish. The Armenian people have no alternative, can have no other path, except to renew their national beliefs, to stand firm, to fight, to confront and overcome the violence and brutality exercised against them and their homeland, through political, unjust, military and anti-state unfair means.
Indeed, every conscious and committed Armenian, wherever he may be, whatever affiliation he may have, must arm himself with far-sighted politics and flexible diplomacy. The Armenian must adopt an uncompromising stance and indisputable sound judgment within regional and international spheres, not only to shatter the traps set against him, but also to expose all the injustices that are applied against him.
Therefore, realizing this, we must now clearly declare that we will not tire, we will not waste much time, nor will we stake on those intentions that divert the decentralizations and direct them only toward the options of accepting and recognizing the genocide.
For example, the administration of the United States of America, for years, persistently deceived, yes deceived the Armenian people, saying it would accept and recognize the Armenian Genocide. This was always only words and promises, in the name of vain presidential votes.
Today, the same buffoonery continues, when President Biden reaffirms the buffoonery of his predecessors. And are we still to believe such state-wide drivel? If only we were wrong…:
The matter of recognition does not mean that it is unimportant or unnecessary, but alongside it, and more than that, for the sake of the Armenian Cause, it is vital and essential that the “Armenian train” operate with new advances, leading the Armenian claim to more stable and firmer platforms.
What has been done is not underestimated, but when what has been done and what is to be done complete each other by only a small percentage, there one perceives and feels a certain retreat, an ebb, which weakens the march and formation of the thesis of claim.
We consider it essential to emphasize this point without hesitation or reluctance, because today a new challenge stands before us, one that was not calculated for, nor foreseen, whether in the wounded status of Artsakh or in the danger threatening Armenia, towards which we must be extremely vigilant and sober, ready and organized, as long as the lurking enemy is still determined to act unwaveringly. Therefore, one cannot treat them with faint-heartedness or short-sightedness.
Yes, this is the bitter truth, especially when we see that in the homeland, the internal political situation is passing through very delicate and sensitive phases, even with prolonged and tense confrontations, and these at present show no signs of calming or stabilizing, since the government-opposition conflict remains unyielding and unpredictable.
The Diaspora, with its national, political and generally communal and community structures, must follow these movements with collective diligence, so that the wings of multi-polarization do not harden and deepen further, in order to stay away from dangerous paths and keep the homeland and the people away from them.
It must be clear, we are zealous that our national claims remain non-negotiable and firm, for the realization of which neither desertion, nor retreat, nor indifference can serve our communal interests.
The Armenian people, on the road to achieving its goals, undoubtedly has and must have a clear and single target, and that is our youth, who are the standard-bearer, the new torchbearer, also the segment of succession, who from the Armenian Genocide to the Artsakh existential struggle have been the vigilant, pursuing and fully armed guard.
Dear compatriots and sons of Armenia,
The observance of the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide places us all before serious national obligations and duties, provided that with renewed forces, reorganized efforts, reworked visions we are led toward those horizons that give the Armenian Cause and the Armenian claim soaring and tangible effectiveness, even if with a step-by-step policy, but unwaveringly.
The Armenian Democratic Liberal Party, from the first day of its founding, has been among the advocates of the pursuit and defense of the Armenian Genocide, always standing in support of its successes and achievements.
However, to make the Armenian people’s claim more effective and purposeful… there is no other way out of its demands, one must unite, join and become one, with new flights and solid foundations.
The 106th anniversary imposes this and drives us all to collective and unanimous cooperation.
