Kim Kardashian, the famous television star of Armenian descent, thanked US President Joe Biden on her social media page for using the term “genocide” on the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
Kardashian specifically noted that after more than a century of struggle for truth and recognition, the Armenian people received recognition when President Biden, in his speech, called the massacre of 1.5 million Armenians in 1915 a genocide.
“I am proud of my heritage, of the Armenian community. I am grateful to President Biden for giving that day to every Armenian, and I am grateful for the truth. Although nothing will bring back the murdered Armenians, I hope that now their relatives will feel some peace. Every year I will continue to honor that day and remember those we lost, but from now on with the hope that after the recognition of the genocide, we will never again allow the crimes of the past to be repeated. Thank you, President Biden, for your courage to tell the truth, which others chose to hide,” Kardashian emphasized in her post.
