The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, has stated that the Kremlin is following the situation regarding the elections in Armenia and hopes that the people’s decision will help the country get onto a path of stable development.
“We welcome the information from Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission that these elections have taken place. And, of course, we see that Pashinyan’s party has won a confident victory. We congratulate the Armenian people on the occasion of the elections. Of course, we hope that this election by the Armenian people will help overcome the difficulties the country currently faces and get onto a path of stable development,” said Peskov, in response to a question about how Moscow assesses the results of Armenia’s elections and what its disposition is regarding cooperation with Yerevan.
