Azerbaijan’s aggressive posture is aimed at terrorizing the society of the Republic of Artsakh and disrupting the activities of the Russian peacekeeping mission. This was stated in a communiqué issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh, which condemned the ceasefire violations committed today by the Azerbaijani armed forces targeting the communities of Karmir Shuka-Taghvard and Nakhichevanik in the Askeran district.
“Today, on 10 January, the Azerbaijani side again grossly violated the ceasefire, targeting civilians and civilian sites in the communities of Karmir Shuka-Taghvard in the Martuni district and Nakhichevanik in the Askeran district of the Republic of Artsakh.
Such actions are manifestations of the anti-Armenian and Nazi policy pursued at the state level in Azerbaijan, which once again prove that the ‘peace-loving’ declarations of the Azerbaijani authorities have no connection whatsoever with that country’s real terrorist and expansionist aims against Artsakh, the Armenian people and the region.
Since the cessation of hostilities, Azerbaijan’s aggressive posture has been a gross violation of the agreements reached, the standards of international law and the principles of humanity, aimed at terrorizing the society of the Republic of Artsakh and disrupting the activities of the Russian peacekeeping mission.
We deem it necessary to stress once again that with such steps Azerbaijan cannot shake the Artsakh Armenian’s determination to live and create in Artsakh, for whom any status within Azerbaijan is absolutely unacceptable.
We shall continue to develop and strengthen our homeland,” the communiqué stated.
