Work toward regulating the situation around Mountainous Karabakh is carried out every day. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, in an interview given to Izvestia.
“Consultations and negotiations are currently under way with the foreign ministers. We communicate through the foreign ministries and embassies literally every day. Reports on telephone conversations between the heads of the foreign ministries, both Russia-Azerbaijan and through Armenia, are regularly published… enormous efforts have been invested by our country toward resolving this situation, both during the acute phase… and in the post-conflict phase,” Zakharova said.
According to her, this concerns not only political efforts, but also the diplomatic and personal efforts of the country’s leadership. “And, of course, the role of our peacekeepers, who every day invest their strength, soul and abilities, their professionalism and skills, to rectify the situation. And so that the politicians, diplomats and public figures can already carry out their functions. For this reason, the role of the Russian peacekeepers cannot be underestimated,” concluded the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
