Zareh Sinanyan, the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, who is on a working visit to Syria, held a meeting with the spiritual and community leaders of the Armenian community of Damascus. The information was announced by the press service of the RA Embassy in Syria.
“During the meeting, the problems facing the Armenian community and the ways to overcome them were discussed in detail, particularly in light of the devastating earthquake of February 6,” the statement said.
Representatives of the community presented to Sinanyan the situation created after the disaster, as well as the progress of the work being carried out to overcome it. One of the key issues of the discussion was Armenia-Diaspora cooperation.
The High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs and the representatives of the community touched upon the prospects for the further expansion and development of cooperation.
