There are 11 accused in criminal cases related to the actions of the Armenian armed forces during the September Azerbaijani attack. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee, Argishti Kyaramyan, said this in an interview given to the Armenian Public Television, noting that most of them are in custody.
Argishti Kyaramyan informed that 4 of the cases have already been sent to court. The accused are mid-level officers and servicemen.
“We are conducting the investigation by direction, with the division by regions — the directions of Gegharkunik, Syunik and Vayots Dzor,” Kyaramyan noted.
According to the Chairman of the Investigative Committee, 17 proceedings were initiated, most of which were later merged into one proceeding.
Argishti Kyaramyan also informed that 22 proceedings related to the Azerbaijani attack were initiated, which were later combined into one proceeding. There are no accused.
As a result of the September Azerbaijani attack, there are around 600 victims on the Armenian side.
