On April 5, a rally convened by the parliamentary opposition forces took place in Yerevan’s Freedom Square.
At the end of the rally, held under the slogan “By Protecting Artsakh, Let Us Protect Armenia,” the protesters moved toward France Square.
Armenia’s third president, Serzh Sargsyan, was also present at the rally as an observer. Robert Kocharyan was not present. Earlier, his press spokesperson had stated that he would not be able to attend due to health issues.
The “Union of Informed Citizens” conducted a count of the rally participants through video recording, the results of which showed that approximately 11,200 people were present in Freedom Square.
