A delegation representing the ADL, headed by ADL Central Board member and Chairman of the Lebanese Regional Board, Dr. Avetis Dageshyan, and comprising Regional Board members Dr. Joseph Kerboyan and Dr. Vache Doneryan, recently paid a visit to Maral Najarian, who had returned to her home in Lebanon from Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, which lasted about an hour, the members were informed in detail of all the important particulars concerning the process of the release of the Armenian woman Maral Najarian.
They also expressed their full support and solidarity with the Armenian woman, noting as well that they are prepared to employ all means for the sake of her security and well-being.
During the meeting, Avetis Dageshyan delivered brief remarks, also noting that he has known Maral for a long time and expressing the hope that she will soon return to the normal course of life.
It is worth recalling that Maral Najarian was taken captive four months ago in Shushi, when she had returned to the Armenian city with her close companion Vigen Eoljekyan to collect their belongings.
To secure Maral’s release, important work was carried out by the International Committee of the Red Cross, Russian and Armenian political figures, the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the three Lebanese-Armenian political parties.
