A delegation from the ADL Lebanese Regional Board, headed by Central Board member Avedis Dagesyan, visited Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia at the Antelias monastery.
The delegation conveyed the Central Board’s New Year greetings to His Holiness. The Board stated that it would continue its participation in the Lebanese-Armenian Reconstruction Committee, of which the three national parties, the three denominations and the three benevolent unions are members. Issues of concern to the Armenian people were discussed, such as Lebanon’s economic conditions, the political situation in Armenia and Artsakh following the second Artsakh war, and the party’s internal situation.
His Holiness, for his part, stressed the importance of supporting our nation’s children so that they remain attached to the Lebanese homeland, which has given us much and which we must not abandon. Rather, by joining hands we must rise and support our people’s children, ensuring dignified living conditions for them. In the case of Armenia, maintaining unity is the greatest guarantee of our success and of weathering this crisis with the least damage.
At the end of the meeting, which lasted over an hour, the parties pledged to remain in communication in order to overcome all the obstacles facing our people.
