Turkey has been disturbed by the events held in Yerevan on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Treaty of Sevres, as well as by the statements made on this topic by high-ranking officials of the Republic of Armenia, writes Ermenihaber.am.
The foreign ministry of that country issued a statement in response to the aforementioned statements.
Turkey’s foreign ministry has indirectly threatened: “The time has come for Armenia’s state bodies (authorities) to abandon their aggressive nationalist policy and come to their senses.”
The statement noted that the purpose of the Treaty of Sevres was to partition Turkey and put an end to its independence and sovereignty, but the Turkish nation “tore it up and threw it into the dustbin of history.”
With this statement, Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs indirectly accused Armenia of sowing enmity and of “having base intentions,” and of resorting to the help of the Treaty of Sevres for that purpose.
