The European Union is ready to support Armenia in the process of moving closer to the EU. EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos said this during a briefing held at the European Parliament.
“We are ready, and if they fulfil their obligations, we will fulfil ours as well. Armenia is truly moving toward the European Union. At this moment it is the only country with which we are conducting negotiations on the liberalisation of the visa regime,” Kos said.
She also recalled the EU’s support for Armenia’s economy.
“We are providing support on many issues, because Russia has blocked imports from your country,” she said, answering an Armenian journalist’s question.
Marta Kos added that there is also a special package for Armenia’s economic development.
