Within the framework of the “Army-2021” military-industrial exhibition taking place in Moscow, Armenia has signed an arms supply contract with Russian companies, announced Dmitry Shugayev, Director of Russia’s Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, without, however, providing details.
“Among the signatories (of contracts) are our traditional partners: Kazakhstan, Armenia, Belarus, Uzbekistan and, of course, India, China and Myanmar,” Shugayev said, according to RIA Novosti.
Earlier, Alexander Mikheyev, Director of Rosoboronexport, had told journalists that more than 20 deals worth more than 2 billion euros have already been signed within the framework of “Army-2021.”
On the afternoon of August 24, after attending that exhibition in Moscow and meeting with the heads of Russian military-industrial companies, Defense Minister Arshak Karapetyan made a notable statement that Armenia has refused to acquire old weaponry and plans to purchase new and high-quality arms.
