As of January 1, 2019, the permanent population of the Republic of Armenia numbered 2,965,300 people, reports the RA Statistical Committee.
This is the lowest permanent population figure recorded in Armenia since 1990.
Despite the fact that in 2018-2019 the scale of emigration, according to observations, has decreased, the continued decline in birth rates and the increase in deaths are determining the decline of Armenia’s permanent population.
