Days ago, Azerbaijanis fired at farmers carrying out work in the fields of Artsakh’s Sarushen village. This was reported by Metakse Hagopyan, a deputy of the Artsakh parliament.
“On April 7, in broad daylight, they fired with a machine gun at citizens working in the field, in the direction of a tractor working in the field. In my opinion, the enemy is applying pressure in order to take control of the road leading to Shushi,” she said, adding that fortunately there were no casualties.
It should be noted that Sarushen village is on the border, and Azerbaijanis travel past the village every day towards Shushi. After the war, the village was fully repopulated.
Details of the incident were told in a conversation with NEWS.am by Sarushen resident Vitaly Sarukhanyan, whose tractor was also damaged by the gunfire.
“The incident took place on April 7, around 9:40, at that time we were working in the field, we were busy with sowing, and they started firing from the neighboring village that has come under Azerbaijan’s control. At first they fired with rifles, but since the distance was great, it was of no use, they started firing with a machine gun. It shattered the tractor’s glass, I have already repaired it. They fire to create panic among people, so that they leave their settlements,” he said.
