Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has made a decision to appoint Deputy Director of the National Security Service Eduard Martirosyan as temporary acting director of the NSS. The Prime Minister stated this at the beginning of the government session, adding that he has appointed First Deputy Police Chief Arman Sargsyan as acting Police Chief. Armenpress reports this.
“I inform you that this is a status defined by the legislation of the Republic of Armenia, and our colleagues in this status have full authority to lead both systems. I want to wish success and congratulate our colleagues. Officially, we await the signing and publication of those decrees by the President,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
Let us recall that at the recommendation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Artur Vanetsyan and Valeri Osipyan were dismissed from the positions of NSS Director and Police Chief. Osipyan has been appointed as the Prime Minister’s chief advisor.
