Armenian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister Tigran Avinyan announced during a press briefing following the Cabinet meeting on 1 June that the government has initiated the production of diagnostic kits for the “Corona” virus in Armenia.
Based on the 100,000 imported reagents, the production of diagnostic kits has already begun, Avinyan noted. According to him, on 2 June the first batch of 350 kits will be handed over to the National Center for Disease Prevention and Control, while the Institute of Molecular Biology, according to estimates, can produce 3,000-5,000 diagnostic kits per day.
“This will create an opportunity to meet our own demand in case of a future increase in the number of tests,” the Minister said.
