Blogger Alexander Lapshin has reported on his Facebook page that the current head of Azerbaijan’s State Security Service may have been involved in an attempt on his life.
“Those who run the personal page of Azerbaijan’s NSS head, Mr. Ali Nagiyev, have clearly lost their minds. As a sign of professional growth, they have attributed to him the attempt on blogger Lapshin’s life in Riga. Allegedly, he was born an ordinary man in the Babek district of Nakhichevan. But he studied a lot, worked, and served the homeland. And at the age of 62, he reached the point of ordering the killing of blogger Lapshin. It is a wonderful example for Azerbaijani youth, who have already grown up on the example of the ‘heroism’ of Ramil Safarov, who hacked a sleeping Armenian soldier with an axe in a hotel. It is terrible, frankly speaking,” the blogger noted.
