On Saturday, 19 November 2022, under the auspices of the Prelate of the Armenian Diocese of Damascus, His Grace Bishop Armash Nalbandian, the reopening of the Tekeyan Cultural Club of Damascus took place. Ten years ago, at the very beginning of the Syrian war, as a result of the terrible explosion in Al-Tahrir Square in Damascus, the TCC center had also suffered severe damage. Thanks to the persistent and steadfast service of devoted benefactors and members, after the difficult restoration works, the TCC center of Damascus reopened its doors.
Present at the intimate reopening event were the Prelate of the Armenian Diocese of Damascus, His Grace Bishop Armash Nalbandian, the Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Azat Khachaturyan, clergymen, representatives of Damascus cultural unions, and Damascene-Armenian national figures.
This event, dedicated to the ADL centennial and the restoration of the TCC center, was also an occasion to appreciate and reward party and union members who, through years of service, have contributed to the fruitful activities and prosperity of the TCC.
At the end, in his message of blessing, the Prelate highly appreciated everyone’s devoted work and congratulated the Damascene-Armenians on this stage of restoration.
