Owing to the critical situation created by Azerbaijan’s latest provocations — closing the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia and halting the gas supply — the three Lebanese-Armenian political parties, the SDHP, the ADL and the ARF, held an emergency session on Friday, 16 December, at the “Shaghzoyan” Center.
The attendees addressed this latest Azerbaijani manifestation of the trampling of human rights, which has placed the entire people of Artsakh in a stranglehold, deprived them of the most elementary rights of life, and made them the victim of a new criminal scheme.
The meeting deemed it necessary to expand awareness and advocacy work on intra-national, local and diplomatic platforms, with the primary task of securing the international community’s just stance towards these inhuman provocations.
The meeting reviewed a number of initiatives and decided to keep its sessions open and to follow new developments on a daily basis. On this occasion, the three Armenian political parties reaffirmed the full solidarity of the Lebanese-Armenian community with the people of Artsakh and their inalienable universal rights.
On this occasion, it was decided to organise a mass solidarity rally on Monday, 19 December, at 7:00 p.m., at the “Hagop Der Melkonian” Theatre Hall.
