The President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, has awarded the highest title of “Hero of Artsakh” to General-Commander Jalal Harutyunyan for his exceptional services rendered to the Republic of Artsakh in the cause of defending the Homeland and ensuring its security, and for the courage and personal bravery he has displayed.
“This is first and foremost an appreciation of our army’s heroic struggle — the struggle that, from the very first day of the war, has been waged by both the corps of commanders and all units, displaying the world’s highest professionalism and dedication. Jalal Harutyunyan is our hero, and by his example we must raise generations. Thank you, Mr. General. I am honoured,” declared Arayik Harutyunyan.
He reported that, according to doctors, Jalal Harutyunyan’s health will soon be restored. He is in the recovery phase and will soon rejoin his comrades-in-arms. “I am convinced that the commander’s rich experience and knowledge will long continue to serve our Homeland,” stressed the President of Artsakh.
Jalal Harutyunyan was wounded in a combat position. He was relieved of the post of Minister of Defence of the Republic of Artsakh on October 27.
