Armenian boxer Karen Chukhajyan (16-1, 7 KO), a 23-year-old junior middleweight residing in Ukraine, defeated Russian Sergei Vorobyov (9-1, 6 KO) and won the WBA International belt, reports Armenpress, citing AnalitikaUA.net.
The boxers competed in all the scheduled 10 rounds. The score was 95-96 in favor of Vorobyov, and 99-91 and 96-94 in favor of Chukhajyan. This is the Armenian boxer’s first title in a professional tournament.
Another Ukrainian-Armenian boxer, WBA world champion Artem Dalakyan, will have his next bout on 8 February in Kyiv. His opponent will be Venezuelan Josber Perez.
