On December 8, Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan had a telephone conversation with Russia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov.
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Russia discussed a wide range of issues regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The full restoration of the peace process with the aim of a lasting and comprehensive settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict under the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship was emphasized.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Sergey Lavrov also discussed the progress of the implementation of the commitments undertaken by the parties under the trilateral statements of November 9, 2020, January 11, 2021, and November 26, 2021.
Minister Mirzoyan stressed that the bellicose statements and threats of the use of force voiced by the leadership of Azerbaijan seriously endanger regional stability and security.
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs also discussed issues related to the “3+3” format, as well as matters of mutual interest on the regional and international agenda.
