The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia elected the chairs of its 12 standing committees. As reported by Armenpress, the chair of the counting commission, Narek Babayan, presented the results of the vote for the election of committee chairs.
Below we present the names of the elected chairs of the National Assembly’s standing committees.
Herkiknaz Tigranyan (Civil Contract faction) was elected chair of the Standing Committee on Labor and Social Affairs.
Narek Zeynalyan (Civil Contract faction) was elected chair of the Standing Committee on Health Care.
Eduard Aghajanyan (Civil Contract faction) was elected chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations.
Sisak Gabrielyan (Civil Contract faction) was elected chair of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sports.
Arman Yeghoyan (Civil Contract faction) was elected chair of the Standing Committee on European Integration.
Taguhi Tovmasyan (Armenia faction) was elected chair of the Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs.
Andranik Kocharyan (Civil Contract faction) was elected chair of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security.
Vladimir Vardanyan (Civil Contract faction) was elected chair of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs.
Armen Gevorgyan (Armenia faction) was elected chair of the Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration.
Vahe Ghalumyan (Civil Contract faction) was elected chair of the Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environmental Protection.
Vahe Hagopyan (Armenia faction) was elected chair of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs.
Gevorg Papoyan (Civil Contract faction) was elected chair of the Standing Committee on Financial and Budgetary Affairs.
Thus, the only item remaining on the agenda of the first session is the approval of the government’s program. Deputies will address it after the program is presented to the National Assembly by the government.
