Russia is ready to support the coordination of the parameters of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan — stated Sergei Lavrov, head of Russia’s foreign affairs department, on March 20 at a meeting in Moscow with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
“We are ready, as is stipulated in the trilateral statements, to provide assistance in unblocking transport links, delimiting the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, and coordinating the parameters of a peace treaty,” said Lavrov.
He noted that during the negotiations, particular attention will be paid to issues of regional security.
“Regulating the situation around the Lachin corridor is among the priority issues, and, in general, around Mountainous Karabakh,” said Sergei Lavrov.
In his words, there is no doubt that the trilateral statements of the leaders of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan are the cornerstone of the implementation of all decisions.
