Sweden’s Supreme Court has rejected the demand of Turkish authorities to extradite the prominent Turkish publisher and human rights defender Ragıp Zarakolu.
According to the Turkish Gazeteduvar, Turkey is demanding Ragıp Zarakolu, accusing him of having ties with the PKK.
The court’s decision must also be confirmed by the Swedish parliament.
Let us recall that Ragıp Zarakolu is a well-known human rights defender and publisher in Turkey. Numerous books about the Armenian Genocide have been printed at the “Belge” publishing house he heads. Zarakolu visited Armenia in February 2011 and December 2013.
