The adversary is attempting to carry out new fortification works, which, naturally, does not contribute to reducing the dangers on the border. Shushan Stepanyan, press secretary of the RA Ministry of Defense, said this in an interview with “Haykakan Zhamanak.”
“The RA Armed Forces are halting such operations and, at the same time, are taking appropriate measures to prevent further escalations,” Stepanyan said.
The Defense Ministry press secretary stressed that the Armenian Armed Forces have not fired in the direction of any village.
Stepanyan also did not rule out that the adversary’s activity may be linked to the joint Armenian-Russian exercises being conducted.
It should be noted that earlier, Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry had claimed that the Armenian Armed Forces were allegedly trying to escalate the situation by violating the ceasefire regime in the direction of Tovuz, particularly by opening fire in the direction of the village of Alibeyli.
