Armenia’s parliament did not adopt a statement in response to the Azerbaijani parliament’s statement of 8 November 2022.
With 31 votes in favour, 0 against, and 0 abstentions, the statement was not adopted.
Pro-government deputy Eduard Aghajanyan noted that the ideas voiced during today’s discussion have essentially outlined the perceptions and their differences that exist between the opposition and Civil Contract.
It should be noted that at the opposition’s initiative, an extraordinary session was held in the National Assembly, which was also attended by deputies of the ruling force. The session’s agenda was a single issue: a statement by the National Assembly in response to the Azerbaijani parliament’s statement of 8 November 2022.
Andranik Tevanyan, a deputy of the “Hayastan” faction, had presented which provisions of their proposed statement the authorities did not agree with.
