The spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian massacres in the Agulis settlement of Nakhijevan. The statement recalls the fact of violence against Armenians in that settlement of Nakhijevan, the circumstance of Agulis being reduced to ruins, and the complete depopulation of Armenians from Nakhijevan, as well as the circumstance of the mass destruction of Armenian khachkars in Jugha years ago.
At the same time, under the example of that genocide, the Armenian MFA has declared that the Armenian people are steadfast in the cause of defending their right to live and develop in their historic homeland.
Official Yerevan is practically addressing for the first time the massacre of Armenians in the Agulis settlement of Nakhijevan, the depopulation of Armenians from Nakhijevan, and the steadfastness to live and develop in the historic homeland.
