Ara Abrahamyan, president of the Union of Armenians of Russia (UAR), has appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the issue of Armenian prisoners of war.
We learn this from a video published on the UAR’s YouTube channel, in which Abrahamyan presented details.
“We are obliged to deal with this issue (the prisoners’ issue – Ed.), and I am dealing with it. So, yesterday I came, yesterday I was the first to meet with the president’s aide for international affairs, with Ushakov, Yuri Viktorovich. We put that as the first matter. We wrote a letter to the president, and we received an answer,” Abrahamyan stated.
According to him, today the Russian president himself is dealing with the prisoners’ issue.
“When the president of the Russian Federation is dealing with it, you know, it is very influential, I think there is no need to present, is there, his capabilities and our capabilities. Only one thing remains for us: to constantly monitor, constantly, every day ask, ‘What happened?’ Not to wait for him to give some answer, but every day. Yesterday I said, I spoke, didn’t I, today I called him, he says, ‘We didn’t understand, Mr. Abrahamyan, we already told you yesterday,’ but I said, ‘A day has passed, what happened?’ We must be persistent and thus consistent, so that this issue is resolved,” the union’s president detailed.
