A wanted notice has been issued for Armenia’s former Prosecutor General Kevork Kostanyan, and a motion has been submitted to the court to select detention as a preventive measure against him. The Special Investigative Service (SIS) informed “Azatutyun” of this.
On Monday it was reported that the SIS, which is investigating the bloody events of 2008, had decided to involve Kevork Kostanyan as a defendant and had asked him to appear before the investigating body within 48 hours to face charges.
On the same day, the former Prosecutor General told “Azatutyun” in an interview, in particular: – “This urgency was predictable for me, but not reasonable.”
Kostanyan has been in Moscow for two months now, where he teaches at the university of the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office.
