“According to information received through unofficial channels, Armenia is not ready to sign a peace agreement,” Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev declared on 14 July in Baku, insisting that such an approach “would be a great mistake on the part of the Armenians.”
The Azerbaijani leader’s statement was made in Baku’s Khojasan district, where Aliyev was presenting apartments and cars to servicemen disabled during the war and to families of war victims.
“The parties must recognise each other’s territorial integrity and borders and begin work on border delimitation. Positive signals are now also being received from international organisations on the delimitation issue. If Armenia does not want to do this, that is its business. They must, however, think carefully in this direction, because later it may be too late,” Aliyev declared.
