Armen Tavadyan, the owner of Channel 5, has been arrested. He was arrested in connection with the criminal case concerning Varuzhan Mkrtchyan, a supporter of Robert Kocharyan. Mkrtchyan has been charged under point 1 of part 4 of Article 340 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (bribing a witness or victim to give false testimony, committed by an organized group). Tavadyan was arrested within the framework of the same criminal case, on suspicion of committing the criminal act provided for by the same article.
